Bring Back Family Christmas Gifts From the Zipline Gift Shop

The chill of winter is arriving fast, but Branson Zipline and Canopy Tours is still in full swing as we head into December. All across the canopy, visitors can view the last remnants of fall colors on the ground and in the trees as they zip from tower to tower. It’s quite a change from the summer heat, but we still encourage visitors to bring along a bottle of water to stay hydrated while they’re zipping.

When you aren’t on the ziplines, spend some time exploring our warm and cozy gift shop where there are plenty of gift ideas for the young and old. We provide a large variety of Amish foods, including fruit jams and jellies, for the family cook. Visitors can follow their nose as they browse through the sweet aromas of our candles, picking out the one that most suits their loved one. There are also several spices, including potpourri, that provide a festive and wonderful touch to the home. We have a selection of affordable jewelry as well, adding the elegance that your family member deserves, and for the little ones, we’ve filled a whole wagon full of fun stuffed animals, from the smallest to the biggest. The stuffed animals are sure to be a hit among the kids and grandkids!

If you need a few extra layers to stay warm, don’t forget to check out our t-shirts, long sleeved shirts, and sweatshirts, all sporting our logo in some shape or form. Our clothing makes a great souvenir to take back with you. Our zip lines already have limited availability for the month of December, so make sure you make reservations as soon as possible.

Getting to Know Wolfe Creek Preserve – The Bridge to Nowhere / Nowhere Tower

For this post, we have skipped over one of our towers (Homestead Tower) in an effort to highlight that the Ozarks Xplorer Canopy Tour is not the only premiere canopy tour featured on Wolfe Creek Preserve.

Along our 1.5 hour Flying Prospector Canopy Tour, you will begin the journey traversing our famed Bridge to Nowhere, which fittingly leads to Nowhere Tower! ! It is also featured as the fifth zip line along the Ozarks Xplorer Canopy Tour. As with much of our world-class canopy course, the idea behind this section comes from Eli’s childhood memories. As a youngster, Eli began building a make-shift bridge to cross the valleys and occasional stream that the property is noted for. When asked where he was going, he would simply reply, “Nowhere.” However, in reality he was attempting to get to the heart of the property in an effort to escape the everyday and dream of the glorious adventures his father Isaac brought back tales from.

Today, the Bridge to Nowhere is slightly more impressive than the one young Eli originally constructed (it spans under a quarter mile and features 7 connected suspension bridges with a top height of 60 ft). As for the tower the Bridge to Nowhere eventually leads to, it seemed only right to name it Nowhere Tower, and we are sure you will find every bit as much adventure taking off from Nowhere Tower as Eli did during his daydreams.

Getting to Know Wolfe Creek Preserve – Compass Tower

Today’s featured tower is Compass. It is the second zip line along the Flying Prospector Canopy Tour and sixth zip along the Ozarks Xplorer Canopy Tour. And as with most of the zip line towers featured on Wolfe Creek Preserve, Compass was named so by Eli Wolfe for sentimental reasons.

As a young boy, Eli was given a compass by his father, Isaac. Ever in hopes of one day exploring the world like his father, Eli saw this gift as a token of adventure and journeys to come. And while Eli is currently unable to be contacted by any of us at Wolfe Creek Preserve, those that know Eli can’t help but think of the enigmatic quip he would always share with a sly grin, “When the time comes, I’ll most likely follow my compass south; it’s yet to fail me.”

Structurally, the Compass tower carries a variety of meaning with a cross-beam reminiscent of the North, South, East, West markings on a compass. Also, the Blue Streak Fast Line zip line crosses just over the line leading out of the Compass tower, which fittingly takes guests further south into Wolfe Creek Preserve.

Getting to Know Wolfe Creek Preserve – Crow’s Nest Tower

Today, we will be featuring the third tower located on the world-class Wolfe Creek Preserve – the Crow’s Nest. Aside from its unique design, this particular tower highlights tales of the Wolfe family’s international travels. For many years, Eli’s father, Isaac, traveled the high seas in search of adventure and fortune. And even before Eli himself was able to travel by boat he was mesmerized by the stories his father would bring home. Not surprisingly, in an attempt to be like his father Eli requested that he be allowed to build a “crow’s nest” instead of a tree house. And while the Crow’s Nest tower is considerably higher up than the original, it is a touching remembrance of Eli’s childhood and the affection he has for his father.

As can be seen from the photo, you will actually cross a sky bridge before stepping onto the Crow’s Nest, which provides an incredible 360-degree view of the property due to its open nature.

Getting to Know Wolfe Creek Preserve – Lookout Tower

Continuing our look into the individual aspects of our zip line course on Wolfe Creek Preserve, we would like to feature our Lookout tower today.

The original owner of Wolfe Creek Preserve, Isaac, was constantly worried about others sneaking onto his property to rob it of its many resources and eventually built a lookout from which he could easily survey the entirety of his property. The original oak tree that the lookout was fastened to has since fell (perhaps, due in part to the fact that notorious Ozarks outlaw Alf Bolin used the lookout for a time while Isaac was traveling), though the legacy lives on and provides a fitting name for the zip line tower.

Getting to Know Wolfe Creek Preserve – Teeppee Tower

At Wolfe Creek Preserve, we feature a variety of eco-adventure options ranging from a single zip line experience to encompassing tours that trek across the entirety of the course. And while we have become one of Branson’s hottest new attractions since opening in May, 2010, we have done little to highlight the individual aspects of the course. That is why we would like to take the time to feature in-depth the numerous zip line towers featured on property, immersing potential visitors into the story of Wolfe Creek Preserve and the humble beginnings that birthed Branson Zipline and Canopy Tours.

The affectionately titled ‘Teepee’ tower is the starting point of our Ozarks Xplorer Canopy Tour. The name stems from the remnants of a teepee that was found when the property was first purchased long ago. The original owner of the property, Isaac Wolfe, used the teepee as a temporary shelter while he built his homestead and his son, Eli, continued to use the area as a sort of escape years later. Seeing as the original teepee served as temporary shelter and Branson Zipline prides itself on the same ideas of natural preservation as those that used the land before Isaac, it was only fitting that the beginning of the course pay homage and represent this unique, historical aspect of Wolfe Creek Preserve

Fall Colors Offer an Exceptional Branson Zipline Experience

Last week, we posted mention of the Ozarks beginning to gain its fall colors. Since then, the natural change within the Branson area has become near complete, and we would like to once more highlight the unique eco-adventure sightseeing that Wolfe Creek Preserve offers. A wide range of reds, oranges and yellows are showing themselves daily, though there is still a healthy mix of green scattered throughout the vista, offering a canopy zip line experience that truly represents the Ozark Mountains in autumn.

Additionally, with the change in weather, we are being greeted with a cool breeze and have even found that our earlier tours feature the unique aspect of light fog from time to time!

However, our tours are filling fast due to limited availability, and we would recommend that those looking to experience the beauty of an Ozarks Mountain morning in the fall book their tour on our official site before reservations are sold-out. Throughout the rest of October, weekday tours will be starting at 10 a.m., with weekend tours beginning at 9 a.m.

A couple weeks ago we announced the opening of our gift shop on Wolfe Creek Preserve, and now we would like to share some pictures with you! As you can see in our image gallery, we’ve put a lot of hard work and effort into creating more than just a gift shop, but an immersive experience that fits the theme of Branson Zipline and Canopy Tours and will stay with you long after you’ve left the property.

We feature countless trinkets, decorations, snacks and more, and it would be near impossible to cover everything in one post, though there are a few select items we would like to highlight.

Certainly, we can’t talk about the gift shop without mentioning our authentic Amish Feast snacks and spreads. Hand-crafted by the area Amish community, these make for great gifts, and we highly recommend everyone sample the Strawberry-Jalapeno spread.

Those interested in antiques will find a wide range of rustic decorations and popular toys and games from yesteryear. And of course, what better way to support Branson’s favorite zip line and canopy adventure than with a Branson Zipline and Canopy t-shirt?
